Im worried!

I never thought I would ever have to tell so much about myself but I think its important that everyone stops to think about what could happen to them.
Well, here goes. We dont have the money to pay our bills, we need someone to come and watch me, to make sure I dont get into trouble. The only thing I have left that I can do is blog. My computer is too old and it is very hard for me to even do this. I would love to have an updayted computer but I know we cant afford it! I know Im going to leave my family in debt! I do trust in God, but we got ourselves into this mess, how can we expect God to get us out. If we only knew then what we know now. It is so important to get the right insurance. I only hope that someone whoe reads this can learn from my mistakes. Once you are diagnosed it is too late!

  2. Laura and family;

    I know our system of health care and social services really isn't cutting the mark very well for you and yours. I have true empathy for your situation and know that with more advocacy for EOAD, youngsters like yourself should not have to worry about financial issues for starters in addition to the real fear you're expressing. Since, there's no Alzheimer's road map for all of us to travel with, we'll just make it up as we go along trying our best to make this adventure be the best one it can be, like I do "wing it". It's through networking that we learn what others know who have followed similar paths and there are others out there. Sadly, we just have to find them.

    Just hoping you've checked all the options out there like http://www.govbenefits.gov/govbenefits_en.portal. Apply for benefits straight away and keep asking for them even if denied. "The squeaky wheel gets greased" you know.

    Let's get an advocacy team going for you Laura. I'm sure the state of Colorado doesn't want to leave you without care, food, shelter, or facilitate the destruction of your family because you're not "old enough to qualify". Since when do you have to be old to get Alzheimer's, we will tell them, all of them - even the national media if you'll want to scream that loudly.

    Let's not be silent anymore you and me - Okay? I'm in a comfortable place to help from a far so let me know how loud you'ld like me to shout on your behalf. Cuz' the help is somewhere, we just have to find it. Maybe one of these millionaires out there who's not suffering financially will help, like the latest heart throb movie or music star.

    Here's a resource for your sweetheart of a husband ~~~ http://www.prlog.org/10217871-male-caregivers-of-alzheimer-spouses-get-help.pdf, ask him to join up on thealzheimersspouse.com to connect with other spouses and drive the support wheel as best as he can.

    A few minutes of research on EOAD and resources yielded few results as you probably know. This PDF guide from Alzheimer's Association you've probably seen but in case you haven't here's the link:
    http://www.alz.org/national/documents/brochure_earlyonset.pdf

    This states that you can earn $$ for online surveys pertaining to AD ~~ http://member.assistyourteamsurveys.com/aytsreg.aspx?AID=159

    Unsure if any of this will produce much help, just keep up at making our health care system work for you. I'll help spread my awareness of EOAD and please, call every agency you can find and ask for help. LOL, let me know if I can task with you more to do.

    Lovingly,

    Terrilee
